They are just the right length, depth, and interest for a pleasant read before bed and they never disappoint. This one is a good old fashion murder mystery involving a local celebrity. The first Ray and Cain mystery is great. A strong start to this series.
I love these characters, I love their double act, and I am so looking forward to more of their jaunts.

This was a fun short cozy murder mystery. The characters were quirky yet mostly likable. I want to find out what their next adventure will be.
The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed by Sheree Wichard.

It's lucky I got this book for free, and that it was just a short story. I'll have to remember not to get this author again, the writing was so amateurish. The character Cain was so preposterous I figured he had to be written as comedy...but very bad comedy. Is there a zero-star rating?

Every now and then something doesn't make sense, but might be reading out of order or could be difference from story to story, some detail or other.

Great series love the stories and all the different people
I look forward to any Gillian Larkin book. They are always well written in an engaging style to keep one's interest. My only complaint with this book is it was too short - I was not ready for it to end. I am not a short story fan because there isn't time to develop the characters fully.
A quick and fun cozy mystery! I have read many books by this author so I was familiar with the characters. I've enjoyed the way Ray has taken Cain under his wing so to speak. So this was a delightful story that involved the two of them. Looking forward to the next story to see what kind of escapades they can get into next!
